Towalla - Innisfail District
Located in World Heritage listed rainforest and close to Mount Bartle Frere, the highest mountain in Queensland.
The town is a mining locality on the Russell extended gold field, situated in the middle of an immense and dense scrub in very rough country where the average yearly rainy days is 230.
Described as one of the most difficult gold mining locations.
